Today's modern times bring progress to all areas of life. It is related to a change in the content of knowledge, a change in relationships, a change in the methodology of getting acquainted with the objects and phenomena of our environment. New professions and job opportunities are emerging.
Progress also extends to education. It is necessary to prepare especially the young generation for the current changes, even those announced by forecasters. Educational institutions cannot use only traditional practices. At the same time, the growing demand for skills and competences requires educational institutions to respond to the situation in new ways.
At the same time, teachers have always been, are and will be the most important factor in the teaching process. They can play their important role well when they are able to lead students to professional and at the same time social competences. This requires their corresponding professional and pedagogical erudition. The new era places new demands on the teaching profession, on their training, in-service teacher training and self-education.
Emphasis is placed on students so that they can not only reproduce the acquired knowledge, but above all apply it in practice and develop it creatively. If they want to be successful, they need to be able to learn independently for a lifetime.
In the context of education, attention needs to be paid to quality. In the field of education, we often come across the term quality. If schools want to be successful, they need to be of good quality. The current wider public access to higher education is an opportunity for all universities to benefit from an increasingly diverse individual experience. Quality assurance is essential in helping higher education systems and universities respond to change, while ensuring that the emphasis on the acquired education and the student's quality experience with higher education is at the forefront of the university's mission.
The described current situation emphasizes even more the importance of engineering pedagogy - theory, research and didactics of higher education in technical fields.
