Photo of Gyeung Ho ChoiHe is a distinguished Advisor at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand, since 2019 and Adjunct Professor at University of Louisville, USA.

At present he is working as a Professor at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST), Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering, Daegu, Korea.

He was Dean of the College of Transdisciplinary and for several years headed the center for Automotive Parts of Technology and the University's Energy Systems department.

For mor than 10 years he has been responsible as CEO for EROOM G&G Co. LDT and as chairman of the Board of trusties of the same company.

For his research and teaching activities, Dr. Gyeung has received many awards in Korea and Thailand.

Jens Katzek

Photo of Jens KatzekDr. Katzek, who has been running the ACOD for a little more than 7 years, has already gained many years of experience in the field of cluster management, communication and association work and has many years of know-how in these fields of competence.

He studied biochemistry at the Free University of Berlin and did his doctorate at the TU Darmstadt.

His professional career before his function as Managing Director of ACOD included positions in the EU Commission, in the German Bundestag, as an association manager, as well as head of corporate communications for a medium-sized company and, with BASF Plant Science, a global player.

In the voluntary area, he is active as a liaison lecturer for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. The desire to support innovative people in their future projects was also the motivation to be active as a coach for start-ups and as a jury member, e.g. at the Saxon founder award futureSax, the innovation award of Messe Z or the IQ innovation award of the European metropolitan region of Central Germany.

Photo of Thoralf KnoteAfter Studying traffic engineering at University of Transport and Communications / University of Technology Dresden with specialization in public transport, traffic planning and road traffic engineering between 1990 and 1995 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thoralf Knote started his career as Research fellow at the Institute for Traffic Planning and Road Traffic at Dresden University of Technology until 2001. After that he began to work as project manager at Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI. In 2002 he was awarded PhD degree in Traffic Engineering at faculty of Transportation and Traffic Sciences “Friedrich List” of Dresden University of Technology. From 2004 he worked as Group manager for “Transportation Systems / Human Machine Interface” at Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI and since 2008 he became the Head of Department “Vehicle and Transport System Engineering” at Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI.

His scientific interests are concentrated on the analysis of wave climate, wave-driven coastal processes, mitigation of marine hazards, and preventive methods of coastal protection. He has published >200 research papers and dozens of science policy essays.

His fields of expertise are innovative propulsion systems for public transport vehicles, implementation concepts for hybrid and fully electric busses, energy transfer into electric vehicles, public transport operation and vehicle automation. Numerous publications and lectures are accomplished on these key topics.


Stefan Odenbach

Photo of Stefan OdenbachMr. Odenbach studied physics at the Universities of Cologne and Munich, where he graduated in 1989. He successfully completed his PhD thesis at the University of Munich on "Taylor rotation in magnetic fluids" with "summa cum laude" in 1993.

He then works in research areas and projects in Wuppertal and at the University of Bremen.

Since 1999 he has been working as the scientific coordinator of the DFG-priority program "Colloidal magnetic Fluids: Basics, Development and Application of New Ferrofluids".

In 2004 he was appointed professor at the University of Bremen. In 2005 Prof. Odenbach was appointed Professor at the university of Technology in Dresden. Since April 2012 he is the coordinator of the DFG-priority program "Field controlled 2012 particle matrix interaction: synthesis, multi scale modeling and application of magnetic hybrid materials.


Lars Seiffert

In the same year he started to work as an assistant to the board member for operations and human resources (Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG). He worked as Deputy Operations Manager for Motor carrier in 2013 and Tram in 2015. From 2015 he became the Board member for operations and human resources (Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG) and member of the Executive Board Technische Werke Dresden GmbH. He is also the Member of the Executive Board SachsenEnergie AG (former DREWAG – Stadtwerke Dresden GmbH and ENSO Energie Sachsen Ost AG)


Ulrike Stopka
Professor of Communication Management at the Friedrich List Faculty of Transport Science at TU Dresden, Germany

Photo of Ulrike StopkaProf. Dr. Ulrike Stopka, born in 1954, studied industrial engineering and management, received her doctorate in 1981 and her habilitation in 1986.

Since 1993 she is the holder of the Chair of Communications Economics & Management at the Faculty of Transportation and Traffic Sciences at the Technische Universität Dresden.

Her research interests include telecommunications, network economics and the increasing interconnectedness of mobility and communication. The focus is on the efficient support of inter- and multimodality through the creation of integrated mobility platforms, the investigation of the transport operator requirements and business models, mobility apps, mobility-as-a-service, elicitation and evaluation of user requirements, user experience and customer satisfaction research. In this context, Prof. Stopka was appointed to the advisory expert team of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure "Strategic Guidelines for Public Transport" as well as its predecessor initiatives "Roadmap 2.0" and "Networking Guide" with the objective of comprehensive digital networking in public transport.

Numerous publications and presentations at national and international conferences are available on the above-mentioned key research areas. Prof. Stopka is a permanent member of the programme advisory board of the international conference "Human Computer Interaction in Mobility, Transport, and Automotive Systems" and of the Sino-German Industrial Design Expert Committee with a focus on service design.

"IUCEE: Addressing the Challenges of Engineering Pedagogy in India"

Photo of Krishna VedulaDr. Krishna Vedula is now based in India after 40 years as an engineering educator in the US. He now devotes fulltime to IUCEE (Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education), a Section 8 Company with headquarters in Hyderabad. The objective of IUCEE is to improve quality and global relevance of engineering education in India with the assistance of a global network of industry and academic experts. During the past 12 years, IUCEE has catalyzed significant transformations in engineering education in more than 100 institutions all over India.

Dr. Vedula has B.Tech (IIT Bombay, 1967), M.S. (Drexel University, 1969) and Ph.D. (Michigan Tech University, 1980) degrees in Materials Engineering. He has 40 years academic teaching and research experience in materials science and engineering as well as in engineering administration, at Case Western Reserve University, Iowa State University and University of Massachusetts Lowell in the US. He has spent 1 year each at the US National Science Foundation and the US Office of Naval Research and 3 summers at NASA Lewis Research Center.

Dr. Vedula was President, International Federation for Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), 2010-12. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his global leadership in engineering education, including the “Nikola Tesla Chain” Award at the 48th Conference on Engineering Pedagogy by International Society for Engineering Pedagogy, Thailand, 2019. He was awarded title of “International Engineering Educator Honoris Causa “Ing-Paed.IGIP h.c” at WEEF (World Engineering Education Forum) 2014, Dubai. He received the 2014 IFEES Presidents Award as Global Visionary, Dubai. UAE. 2009 and the Global Engineering and Engineering Technology Educator Award from the ASEE International Division, American Society for Engineering Education in 2009. Dr. Vedula is Chief Editor, Journal of Engineering Education Transformations, published in India since Fall 2014 and has been Co-Chair of eight International Conferences on Transformations in Engineering Education (ICTIEE 2014 to ICTIEE 2021). These are signature programs of IUCEE.
